Big Mountain Homes is a family business started by Nick Dunn who specializes in traditional building styles such as mortice and tenon heavy timber joinery. He began building over 15 years ago renovating traditional old Queensland homes which gave him a love and respect for building homes that are built to last. There are no short cuts taken in our building practices.

At Big Mountain Homes we believe in sustainable building practices. Nick works closely with local architects to design homes that are unique and energy-efficient by blending natural materials such as big timber features, stone fireplaces, recycled reverse brick and rammed earth.

At Big Mountain Homes we construct small cottages and pavilions, outdoor eating areas and entryways, larger style barns and house extensions using heavy timber framing. We also build conventional and modern homes with traditional heavy timber features.
